capital campaign We are looking for large donations to help us earn money toward our goal of $800,000—the amount we will need to construct the library's permanent home. Building supplies We'll be needing plenty of materials for construction, skilled labor, and people who can lug stuff around. Let us know if you'd like to help us in this concrete (literally!) way, and we'll let you know what we need. endowment The JTEL established an endowment, the ACF John Trigg Ester Library Fund, in October 2011. Our endowment goal is $1 million dollars, which will provide enough interest income to support staff and operations of the library. Obviously, we have a long way to go, and every donation to the fund will help us achieve our goal of long-term financial self-sufficiency and stability. The fund is managed by the Alaska Community Foundation; to donate online, pease see the ACF's donation form. shelf plates Dedicate a library shelf to a friend or relative! $50 gets a nameplate on a shelf in our new library building, construction starting (we hope) in summer 2012. The library is a 501 (c) (3) public charity. We deposit donations to our checking and savings accounts, to be used for rent, supplies, and our building expenses. We hope to start construction in 2012, so whatever you can send will be used very soon! Office supplies We can always use office supplies. Materials needed for the library include blank library cards, card pockets (preferably with sticky backing), bookends, Avery 5160 inkjet printer labels, pens, envelopes, and glue sticks. We can also use a three-hole punch, sturdy stapler, and plain printer paper. You can also sponsor the rent on the JTEL Business Office. Donating book credit One way to donate to the library is to provide us with funds so that we can buy books of the librarians' choosing. Gulliver's Books will take your used books and apply the credit to the Ester library's used book credit account, if you ask them to when you bring in your old books. That way we can purchase books for series missing volumes, or books requested by the membership. | |||||||||
