Entertainment at the Librarypalooza

Library Lallapalooza & Book Bash

Every year the lallapalooza features live local music and entertainment. We've had a play, dance groups, jazz, swing, rock, folk, bluegrass, bagpipers, celtic, and poetry. Libraries house much more than books, and ours includes films, games, and puzzles as well as books. We hope to have a music collection as well, so our fundraisers feature musical groups. If you would like to perform at our next lallapalooza, please contact us at library [at] esterrepublic.com.

This year our entertainment lineup includes music, performance, and dance. James Bartlett, DJ extraordinaire, will provide music for the Fancy Apron Parade. Our thanks to Music Mart for the use of theirsound system setup for the live events. The schedule for the day's performances is:

1 to 1:30: Chena Flotsam: Irish and Scottish tunes played by Ed Debevec, Angus Smith, and Dennis Stephens, with instruments ranging from guitar (and maybe mandolin), Irish flute, tin whistle, shuttle pipes, Scottish smallpipes, bodhran, and perhaps Deger electronic pipes. "Not all simultaneously," says Dennis. This will be their debut performance.

1:30 to 2: Tim Walker & students of Northern T'ai Chi Ch'uan

2 to 2:15: Harry G. on electric guitar. Harry is an Ester village dweller, and has appeared before in the Ester 4th of July parade.

2:15: art apron parade, with Mali Noreen as catwalk announcer

3 to 3:30: dessert auction (outcry)
