Build a Library with a Song!

The 2010 LiBerry Music Festival, our fifth, was bigger and better than ever! It was Saturday, Agust 21 from 2 until late at night, and had great local music! Thank you to all the wonderful musicians who played at three locations in Ester: the Golden Eagle Saloon (3630 Main Street), Hartung Hall (Main Street & Ester Loop, just up the road), and the newly completed Ida Lane Clausen Gazebo (on Village Road, opposite the Ester Post Office). We earned almost $3,200!

The music festival is a fun and lively event, featuring a pie contest (one judgeship is up for auction!) and an amazing lineup of local musicians and musical groups. Genres included bluegrass, Celtic, Americana, klezmer, blues, rock, reggae, and jazz. And there was the pie contest!

Performers for this year's fabulous pie and music festival were Elzbeth Adams, guitarist and songwriter; klezmer band Almost a Minyan; the Banana Girls; Mel Birch; Beth Chrisman and the Carper Family; Celtic Confusion; ukuleleist & guitarist Russell Copelin; Dangertown; guitarist singer/songwriter Jesse Hobbs; Hustler's High; fiddler and Celtic musician Jean McDermott; jazz choir Musical Rumors; guitarist Tim Robb; and the group Zingaro.
