Throughout the summer:

Ester Community Market

The library has a booth at the Ester Community Market, where you can buy library t-shirts and sweatshirts, see the latest building plans, buy used books, or simply donate to the library. The market is held every Thursday from 4:30 to 7:30 at the Ester Community Park, next to the fire station on Old Nenana Road.

August:

Li-Berry Music Festival

The fifth annual library music festival will be held Saturday, August 21 at the Golden Eagle Saloon, the Ida Lane Gazebo, and Hartung Hall. Groups signed up to play this year so far include Elzbeth Adams, Beth Chrisman and the Carper Family, Tim Robb, and more—we'll have everything from blues to jazz to rock to reggae to old-timey to celtic to jug! And don't forget the fabulous pie-baking contest!

October:

Readers on the Run!

The next Readers on the Run will be October 10, 2010. Thirty people came to run for the library in October 2009 in a footrace and poetry composition contest!

The gazebo is now a functional shelter! It was dedicated in honor of Ida Lane Clausen, a feisty and talented Ester resident of many years. Thanks very much to everyone who helped or donated to create our beautiful gazebo!
